Baptism at Grace
“Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.” - Romans 6:4
Baptism is the first step of obedience for those who have committed to a life of following Jesus. Baptism is the symbolic washing with water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; it signifies and seals our adoption into Christ, our cleansing from sin, and our commitment to belong to the Lord and to his church.
In baptism, we identify with Christ in both his death and resurrection. Our old, ruled by sin life, is buried and gone, and we are raised to our NEW LIFE of forgiveness, redemption and commitment to a Christian life. This step is the declaration of going public with our faith.
While some faith traditions, practice Infant Baptism, at Grace, we believe baptism is for those who have made a decision on their own to become a Christian. We practice water baptism through immersion. We celebrate babies and invite parents to dedicate them publicly to the Lord regularly in our Worship Gatherings.
